Project Description

The Baardskeerdersbos Art Route takes place twice a year in Spring and Autumn in the quirky village of Baardskeerdersbos between Gansbaai and Elim in the Overberg region of the Western Cape. The village is home to a collection of artists with diverse talents ranging from painting, printmaking, illustrating, sculpting, photography, jewellery, functional art, craft, land-art, ceramics to textile art and more.

The Baardskeerdersbos Art Route website was a re-design and completely new branding for this popular event. The participating artists as well as guest artists are showcased each with their own page as well as the various events taking place in the village over the art route weekends.

To this there is information about the village and photo galleries of the artists work, of the surroundings and accommodation listings in the area.

Design colours are muted allowing the art to shine. Sharing to social media allows the page to be shared and news of the art route to be spread by word of mouth. Google analytics allows us to track visitors and which pages are most popular.

An added element to this project was retaining the good presence of their previous website on google and other search engines. Permanent 301 forwards allowed us to achieve this essential task.
